General

IFP after its re-launch in 2005 is an association according to Swiss law. The members of IFP convene in one meeting per year, elect the board, and the president, and decide about changes of the by-laws and they influence the general policy of the association. The time and date of the annual IFP meeting is published on the website of IFP. The procedures for the elections and the decisions are defined in the by-laws .

IFP’s policy is made by its Board (Executive Committee), which consists of delegates from at least three different continents. The policy is carried out by the office of IFP’s secretary-general and by an extensive network of volunteers in many countries, including as soon as possible permanent representatives at the offices of the United Nations at Geneva, Vienna and New York.
